Change your habits: Do you have trouble sticking with healthy habits?
The most effective way to change your habits is to focus on who you want to become, and not on the outcome that will result from implementing the change.
“When a habit becomes part of your identity it will enhance that intrinsic motivation”- James Clear. For example, instead of telling yourself “I want to be healthy and fit, say I am healthy and fit”. If you take pride in your health you’ll be more inclined to keep up with the habits that will keep you healthy, such as going to the gym or eating a nutritious meal.
Look for a small win each day. Whether that be going for a longer walk that day or choosing a home cooked meal over fast food. If you can make a small change each day and reinforce a good habit, that small win daily will eventually become a BIG win! This is so important, as it can become very easy to fall into bad habits and repeat them daily. For instance, a good habit daily could lead to one pound of weight loss weekly, or a bad habit daily could lead to one pound of weight gain weekly… which path are you taking?
Here at Longevity Nexum, we want to help you increase your health span and feel your best! We want to celebrate those small wins with you, and that starts with implementing a good habit based on who you want to become.
