Navigating nutrition can be challenging, especially when you’re striving to see results from your efforts in the gym. However, it plays a critical role in achieving your fitness goals, and overall well-being!

In the Grocery Store

Do you ever go to the grocery store on an empty stomach and come home with more food than what you intended? This is because your body is in a state of hunger, which will impact the choices you make. Instead, go to the store once the hunger is satisfied and a list has been made of what is needed. This will ensure that you don’t buy what you don’t need and make better choices in the process. Additionally, try to stick to the perimeter of the grocery store. This is where the fresh, whole foods are. Rather than spending too much time in the middle of the store where typically the processed, and less nutrient dense food is held.

At The Dinner Table

If you ever find yourself eating too fast and then feeling extremely full after… there is a reason why. Our brain receptors are slower then our stomach receptors. When we eat really fast our brain receptors can’t process it right away to tell us we are getting full. With that in mind, slow down your eating and give your brain receptors time to inform you that you have had enough food to avoid over eating.
