1. Private health insurance
In Ontario, all major private insurance providers recognize Kinesiology. While it is plan dependant, there is a growing number of plans that accept Kinesiology claims.
2. Medical expenses tax credit
Kinesiology is a recognized medical profession in Ontario. This means that you can spend up to a maximum of $2,421, or 3% of your income, on medical expenses. Anything in excess of this amount results in a tax credit.
For example, if you spend $5,000 on Kinesiology services over the course of a year, you would get refunded $2,579 on your tax return.
If you have other out of pocket medical expenses, such as dental, this contributes to your total medical costs for the year. If you had an expense trip to the dentist, it is possible you can come see us for no out of pocket cost for the entire year!
3. Health Spending Account (HSA)
If your company has a health spending account, you can spend this on Kinesiology! For example, full time teachers are entitles to $1,000 as an individual or $2,000 as a family in a HSA.
4. Veterans Affairs Canada
Under the POC-12 program, Kinesiologists can treat any musculoskeletal condition and many chronic diseases. To check what you are mentioned for, and if Kinesiology is an approved service for you, give us a call! All the work will be done on our end.
5. Workers Compensation
Kinesiologists can help you with your workers compensation claim. We are also able to submit the claim on your behalf. Whether this is a back, knee, hip, shoulder or other muscle/joint pain that has occurred at work, we can help you for no out of pocket cost.
