Kelly Knabenschuh
Registered Kinesiologist
Bio
Kelly was born and raised in Niagara, Ontario. She was a competitive basketball and soccer player growing up, and started resistance training at the age of 12 when she joined the YMCA. Most of her weekends consisted of playing in basketball tournaments both in Canada and the United States. The team she played for saw a personal trainer 1-2x a week and she loved it! This passion for sports and training led her to complete her degree in Kinesiology at Brock University. During her undergrad she had the opportunity to work with the men’s volleyball team, children, older adults, and individuals recovering from a stroke or spinal cord injury. She moved to Barrie in 2021, and had the opportunity to work for a commercial gym as a Fitness Manager. For the past 3 years Kelly has led and educated a team of personal trainers. During this time Kelly has done various courses to enhance her knowledge in the following areas: fascial stretch therapy, mobility and low back pain. In particular she wanted to help those with chronic low back pain, as this was a common concern amongst majority of the individuals she consulted with. She will teach you various tips to incorporate into your activities of daily living to improve your back health. Kelly’s mission is to help you on your journey to an improved quality of life and that starts with addressing your movement patterns, as well as your nutrition, sleep and stress management!
