This week we get to celebrate National Kinesiology Week! We wanted to take the opportunity to not only celebrate the privilege of doing what we get to do every day but explain what being a Kinesiologist truly means to us.
Longevity Nexum, downtown Barrie, is a private Kinesiology clinic that is fully equipped to help everyone and anyone. We can confidently say that we are the only ones in Barrie and surrounding area that provide the care that we do. Let’s see what being a Kinesiologist means to Chelsey, who has been a part of our team for a year now!
What is a Kinesiologist in Chelsey’s Words?
A Kinesiologist in my mind is someone who improves the lives of the people they get to work with. They are health care providers that look at the whole picture of the person in order to provide the proper care. Kinesiologists are not only focussed on fixing the issue at hand, but they fix the issue, prevent further issues from happening in the future, and ensure the health of the individual is maintained throughout their whole life!
As kinesiologists we are able to use all the education we received and put it into practice that will benefit the client we are working with. Whether it’s someone who has experienced an injury, someone who has a chronic condition, or someone who is looking to improve their health – a kinesiologist will be there to help you. Having the ability to work 1 on 1 with all of our clients provides me the opportunity to build lasting relationships with each of my clients which deepens my understanding of what that client will need to benefit them in the future.
What it’s like Working as a Kinesiologist for Chelsey?
I am beyond lucky to do what I do for work. Being able to help people not only achieve their goals but exceed them is why I do what I do. It is all too common that people think that just because they are a certain age, have a chronic condition, or have experienced an injury, there is not much they can do. I am happy to say that the work that we do instills hope to our clients that has been lost along the years.
Working as a Kinesiologist I am able to share my passion for exercise as medicine to each and every one of my clients. This deep-rooted passion brings out a desire to help Canadians extend the quality of years they have. We are always working towards matching the health span to equal their life span. Meaning we are working to ensure all of our clients are able to do what they want to do for as long as possible.
Changing Lives Through Exercise
Not only has working as a Kinesiologist at Longevity Nexum improved my own life, but I know we have improved the lives of so many people. We as a team are, day-by-day, are changing the lives of the clients that walk through our door. We are promoting the importance of regular movement that is structured, tracked, and progressively overloaded – we get the job done.
Being a Kinesiologist is more than I thought it would ever be – and I went to school for it! So, I can only imagine what people who did not go to school for it thinks it is?
All you need to know is that when you walk in our door, you will be taken care of. Walking in the door you will be listened to, heard, and understood. You will have a team of people who are only looking for you to be supported and succeed!
