With Easter weekend approaching we wanted to take this time share our family Easter traditions, and what our team will be up to this upcoming weekend!

Kelly’s Family Easter Traditions

Easter traditions with my family growing up consisted of an easter egg hunt in the morning, followed by brunch, and a turkey dinner to end the night. As my sister and I got older the hunt went from finding chocolate eggs to plastic eggs filled with money… so you know the easter egg hunt became more competitive when money was on the line!

This year however, looks a little different… my mom, sister and future mother in law are spending the Saturday with me shopping for my wedding dress! I’m so fortunate that I get to do this with not only my mom and sister, but with my mother in law. It’s a special moment for all of us, and I can’t wait to see their reactions when I find the dress!

Easter Sunday my fiancé and I are going to his parents house to celebrate Easter with some off his family. We both look forward to this time with family, but also filling our plates with his great grandmother’s famous stuffing recipe that has been in the family for generations!

Mel’s Family Easter Traditions

Easter is another annual celebration where all my aunts, uncles and cousins from my moms side get together. For as long as I can remember, we have yet to miss an occasion where everyone doesn’t get together. Over the years, as we have all grown up and our families continued to grow, our traditions have shifted. The tradition of the family feast still stands where everyone brings way too much food and we somehow end up with 3 turkeys, 2 hams and 12 different side dishes. Nonetheless, the leftovers never go to waste.

Easter is usually hosted at my parents house. We always begin with starting a fire outside where we all congregate to give life updates, share some drinks and laughs all the while we patiently wait for the Easter bunny to deposit the chocolate easter eggs in the backyard for our annual easter egg hunt. Although this is meant for the younger children, all the older cousins, aunts and uncle always partake in the fun. Among other traditions, we usually partake is some nature walks and ATV rides on the property.

Within the same weekend, my husband and I always divide our time between both families. On his side, we get together with his parents and enjoy some relaxing traditions. We always begin with our annual easter egg hunt between his brother, his wife and us. These challenges are always every man for themselves and there’s no mercy. This activity can sometimes get quite vigorous and can be considered high intensity interval training. This is typically followed by some snacks, rehydration and nature walk with the entire family and all the dogs. We then spend the remainder of the evening cooking our meal and eating as a family.

Chelsey’s Family Easter Traditions

Easter in the Torrance family has always been about being with family, eating good food and searching for some goodies!

As a young child it always started with the Easter egg hunt around the house where my sister and I would get everything low, and our older siblings would get the higher eggs. Once all the eggs were found throughout the house and we got the okay from the Easter Bunny’s assistant (our mom) there was an Easter Surprise on the dinner table. Each of us siblings would get a basket filled with more goodies and always a new movie on DVD!

As we are older, our mom has tried to challenge us a little more by using riddles to guide us to clues for us to get our easter surprise. As a retired teacher, her rhyming has gotten her adult children stumped at times! Once we get through the challenging scavenger hunt there is always an Easter surprise basket. Let’s just say the goodies inside have transitioned from DVD movies to some delicious adult beverages.

As always, we look forward to these holidays to take part in our fun traditions and spend time with our family!

Our team here at Longevity Nexum hopes you all have a great Easter weekend with your loved ones!
