On March 20th we celebrate International Day of Happiness. It’s a day to celebrate the things in life that bring you joy and to reflect on your own happiness!
What does happiness look like to you? For some it may be spending time with family, doing some form of self care, or advancing in your career. Happiness does not only consist of feelings of joy, contentment, and other positive emotions, but also a sense that what you do in life is meaningful and valued.
It’s okay to have good days and bad days… we all do! Surround yourself with people that bring happiness into your life and uplift you.
If you haven’t yet incorporated physical activity into your weekly routine, and are in need of a mood boost… give it a try! Physical activity will increase the production of your brain’s feel-good neurotransmitters, called endorphins. You will feel ready to take on your day and it will help to reduce stress levels.
Different forms of activity include: walking, running, cycling, resistance training and the list goes on. Physical activity can also improve your quality of sleep, mental clarity, and confidence. What could these benefits lead to for you? Well we know that when we’re sleeping better, and our stress levels are reduced that we tend to be in a better mood!
