Has your posture changed since sitting for prolonged periods at that 9-5 desk job?

Most of the day is spent sitting at your desk, staring at a screen, and typing away. It’s paying the bills, but it’s not great for your body.

Prolonged sitting can lead to neck and back pain, poor posture, and even more serious long-term health concerns. Whether you’re slouching in your chair or sitting back with your shoulders rolling forward… your posture is paying the price.

You can break up the sitting by going for a walk on your lunch, or taking a phone call on blue tooth. This will help you get some extra steps in, and improve circulation. However, it will not get you stronger and improve your posture.

Implementing exercise into your weekly routine will not just help you stay fit or lose weight. It will also counteract the negative effects of sitting for hours on end. Regular exercise will strengthen your muscles, improve your posture, and boost your mood and energy levels.

It’s easy not moving throughout the day due to your desk job… but it’s not easy dealing with the negative side effects. Don’t compare yourself to your friends or family that have physical jobs. We all need to find the motivation to get up and get moving!

Think about your goals and WHY you want to achieve them? Maybe you want to lose weight to decrease your blood pressure, so you can be there for your children and future grand children. I know it can be tough to find the time or motivation, especially after a long day at work. But think about your WHY… when you start making excuses when it comes to your health.
